The ESL classroom is an exciting place to be at Fox Road Elementary. Here we are learning how to communicate in English in four domains: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. The students focus on language in many different ways. We use drama, pictures, manipulative, games, and all types of genre. Not only are we learning academically, but we are learning socially acceptable mannerisms of the American culture.
The students represent forty different nationalities and twenty-seven different languages. All of us contribute interesting attributes of our different cultures to share with one another. Learning to be respectful of one another's differences is an important skill for daily life.
